In order to have a morally upright brand the brand must have the proper ideology in all aspects. My brand will NOT follow industry fashions seasonality, participate in trend cycles, or work to influence celebrity culture. Leaving these things in the past allows us to become the brand of the future and hone in on whats TRULY IMPORTANT. Ideals making garments for someone to wear their ENTIRE LIFE and then MAKING REPAIRS that inherently make their garment an EXTENSION OF THEM.

 

Garments from our brand will be made to be USED, the life of the garment will impact its style OVER TIME and make it a beautiful historian of your life. Garments will be designed with different lifestyles and professions in mind in order to make your clothes a TECHNOLOGY that is an EXTENSION of your body. Garments will also be made to be as accessible as possible. We want REAL, AUTHENTIC PEOPLE wearing these clothes. The sign value of these clothes will NOT be their PRICE TAG. Local manufacturing and informed design will allow us to make pieces that actually could end up in the hands of people who want them RIGHT AWAY.

The first of our manufacturing goals as a brand of the future is to keep production LOCAL, ARTISANAL and in LOW QUANTITIES with high emphasis on QUALITY. We will be producing pieces in house through our start up and never over producing anything. If possible garments will be made to order on E-commerce and stores orders would all be produced in limited quantities. This allows for production to remain sustainable and ethical while INVIGORATING COMMUNITY that keeps the product desirable because styles will be limited.

One of the biggest prevailing issues in design today is that the LIFE CYCLE is often NOT considered. An integral part of good design is considering ALL steps of the production INCLUDING THE END of the product's life. Once the garment has been sent out to live its life, will offer services to encourage the life cycle. We will provide tutorials and repair services to help the customer repair all garments in many different ways. We will offer buy backs to reuse pieces of old garments in order to upcycle to new 1/1 pieces, reuse non biodegradable materials (zippers, buttons, buckles, Etc.) and even sell used versions of our own pieces.

Creating a community and using the platform of a brand to do good things is integral to my brand's success. We will be hosting events that are actually enjoyable and NOT focused on celebrity status or based on exclusivity. New World and the brands that follow will be a movement that people can be a part of WITHOUT SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. Selling tickets to shows, free instore events and pop ups with other artists, and working on subscription magazines with exclusive content from our brand and other featured artists.

All wearers of the brands will have different garments which protects us from becoming part of the trend cycle.

 

We aim to play a role in creating an INFORMED CUSTOMER in and outside of the fashion industry.

 

We will also have incentives for DONATIONS to different causes including using our fabric and garment knowledge to create designs that solve problems within our city, and one day our society. For example, creating some easy to make pieces, made of scrap or whole wool jersey, to be donated to the homeless, one of the biggest issues that plagues NYC.
